My reason for seeking a second term on the Avon Grove School Board is to continue the work we have begun to further the mission of the district. Over the past 4 years, I have learned a tremendous amount about the operations and the role of governance within the School District. With this level of involvement, I have had the privilege to serve as a member of the Board of Directors, one that certainly can have a critical impact on the future of the District. I want to make a definite difference here in the Avon Grove School District and ensure we can achieve a long-lasting, positive outcome for the District through the work of the Board.

I have lived here for 14 years and pay taxes as a homeowner. We have raised our family here and expect to live here for years to come. I am sure the residents of this community can relate to the desire to have a valuable property with manageable taxes. In addition, I want a high quality of life for myself and my neighbors in and around the community. I want my children and the children of this community to realize their potential for success. A strong education and the experience of a progressive, positive educational environment serves as the foundation for this success. As the daughter of an educator, the promise of a quality education was instilled in me at a young age and I have a deep respect for the role education plays in shaping the lives of future generations.
As a current member of the Avon Grove School Board and one seeking re-election, I have a newfound sense of energy and passion to advance the goals of the District and to serve this well-deserving community and all of its stakeholders. I believe these principles, my work experience and certainly my experience as a seated member of the Avon Grove School Board of Directors can only enhance the continuing evolution of the Avon Grove School District.
I’m running for re-election in 2019 to continue the efforts to establish and implement the District’s strategic plan born in 2014 and executed with rigor and discipline in the last 4 years. Being fiscally conservative means spending money wisely. It doesn’t mean not spending money at all.  I believe public education is an investment, not an expense. Like any investment can be made wisely, with financial rigor, for the long term and without partisan politics.
Fear has been generated in our community from a constant barrage of incorrect, inaccurate and in some cases outright false information distributed by social media and websites for political reasons. There is no place for politics in public education or on this school board. There is no place for fear in our community. I’m running again to prevent fear from wining over truth and facts.
I firmly believe my breadth of work experience, my knowledge gained over the last 4 years of school board operations and oversight and finally my life experience as a husband, father, neighbor and tax payer offer the voter the best choice for long term stability in public education at Avon Grove.
